I've always loved the word "serenity", so much that I actually have the Kanji symbol for it in an ocean wave tattooed on my back. The idea of Serenology came to me one night while driving, listening to the kids bickering, hootin' and hollerin' in the back seat. I realized that my daily battles as a stay-at-home-mom, as a wife, as a chauffeur, as a servant, as a tutor/teacher, as a cleaner, as a healer... the constant and neverending quest I am on to find serenity, somewhere in there, should be coined as Serenology.
So welcome to my quest; read, share, partake, comment... Moms alike have been on a similar journey; dads too! Can't single just us mommies out. But as I'm told quite often when my two little ones are pushing me to the edge: "It's a mommy thing". But I'm gonna give it to you straight. I'm not here to sugar coat the B.S.; I'm not here to make you feel worse about yourself as a parent by going on and on about how wonderful it is to be one. Nope - laying it all out there as an outlet for myself, to build a community of supportive parents, and to let you know:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
What to do now...
